Mum's Opinion of iPad (1 Year) - iPad Elders
When they went home they bought one at Singapore airport! HURRAY! Even at 70+ it is easy to see the value of owing an iPad! Since then our children's great-grandparents (in their 90's) have gotten their own iPad too!

iPad and the Elderly - Elders on iPadMy parents came over for a three week visit and they just LOVED the iPad. When they went home they bought one at Singapore airport!  HURRAY! Even at 70+ it is easy to see the value of owing an iPad! Since then our children's great-grandparents (in their 90's) have gotten their own iPad too!

"Grampa" (iPadMum's Dad) used it to catch up with the news using the BBC apps (UK and Northern Ireland News app which is free) and the UK newspaper app like the Daily Telegraph. He chose the English Football Premiership app called LiveCast ($6). He also thought Google Earth was amazing, especially the street view feature using the touch screen and he really enjoys GoSkyWatch Planatarium (free app) to see the position of the stars and planets at night! He enjoys GeoBee (National Geographic) as he's really a clever clogs!

"Nannie" read iPad books to the children, which made a real difference as with her eyesight not as good as it used to be she found the iBooks great, and easy to read! She loves the free video poker games which don't lose her any real money and she has fun playing. Scrabble was a family favourite which is frequently played of an evening together. It is excellent on the iPad as you don’t have to count up any scores along the way and it is easy to pass around on your lap!

All in all the children really enjoyed demonstrating their skills to their grandparents, it was a worthwhile experience that we had to share!  They will be suggesting it to my brother and sister too now that they see the value of it and how well it is used in our home!  Hurray for Apple!!
