Role-playing games are games in which players assume the identity (ROLES) of characters within the game setting. Players are able to act-out and make decisions on how and where the character moves and interacts with the virtual environment. Game players usually undertake a quest or quests and are able to enhance their characters abilities through their actions.
The RPGs we've listed here are usually all offline games based entirely on the iPad whether connected to the internet or not. Though several of them are multiplayer roleplaying games, we do not recommend them for children unless attentively supervised, just as you would not let your child loose in a war-zone, eh?
Roleplaying games have, in my opinion, a stronger pull on children's emotions than Platform Games, mostly due to the fact that RPGs are first-person - the player takes on the persona of the character, thus creating a stronger emotional tie to the character.
